Seedling Stage
The seedling stage is the early phase of a cannabis plant’s life when it has just sprouted and begins developing its first true leaves and roots. During this stage, the plant is small, delicate, and highly sensitive to its environment.

When the Seedling Stage Begins
The seedling stage begins immediately after germination and lasts until the plant is established enough to enter the vegetative stage. At this point, the young cannabis plant relies on the energy stored in its seed while gradually transitioning to photosynthesis as its primary energy source.
Early Leaf and Root Development
During the seedling stage, the plant first produces cotyledons, which are small, rounded, leaf-like structures that provide early energy. Soon after, the plant develops its first true leaves, which resemble mature cannabis leaves and allow efficient photosynthesis. As this happens, the root system expands downward and outward, anchoring the plant and increasing water and nutrient uptake.
