Dew point is the temperature at which air can no longer hold its current amount of water vapor, causing moisture to condense into liquid form. Unlike relative humidity, which fluctuates with temperature, dew point represents an absolute measure of atmospheric moisture content. In indoor cannabis cultivation, understanding dew point helps prevent unwanted condensation on plant surfaces.

Why Condensation Forms in Grow Environments

When air temperature drops to or below its dew point, condensation forms on cooler surfaces such as leaves, walls, or equipment. In a grow environment, this moisture can accumulate on dense flowers, increasing the risk of mold and fungal disease. Managing dew point is especially important during the flowering stage.
