These techniques mechanically separate trichomes from the plant or press resin directly from cannabis material. While solventless methods often produce lower yields, they are valued for preserving terpene profiles and maintaining a more natural representation of the plant.

Different extraction methods produce different concentrate types and textures. Factors such as temperature, pressure, agitation, and post-processing all influence whether the final product becomes oil, wax, shatter, rosin, hash, or other forms.
